You may wonder how true it is that blogs can actually be a great money making opportunity all by themselves, and how something so fun to do can create so much extra income for you.

But when you really think about a blog – as simple as it may seem, not to mention free – and know a bit about internet marketing, then you will see that a blog, in itself, contains all of the necessary elements of internet marketing, all rolled into one. This has huge implications, because you already know that blogging is completely free, and now I’m telling you that it can also be a goldmine for you if you want a money making opportunity at your fingertips that really works!

Now let’s look at the various ways that one can market a business online. When we look at these methods closely, we can see how easy it is to set up a blog for free, and start earning fairly quickly from it.

One of the best ways to market an online business is by writing articles, or providing quality content that entices readers to want to read more, and visit your blog often.

Writing good quality articles is a way to bring in new, and repeat customers to your business. After all, why would they visit your blog if you have nothing interesting to say on it?

When you offer something of value, your number of blog readers will increase, and you will have a loyal and interested customer base of highly targeted readers wanting something you have to offer.

If you have an online money making opportunity, or want one, you usually have a product or service that you want to sell to make some money. So once you’ve established a good readership by providing quality content, you can start to make offers within your blog posts.

The reason this is so effective is because you are first offering something to your readers for free, and because it is of value, they come to know and trust you as a good source of information. In this way, you have established respect for yourself and your business, and have essentially pre-sold them on whatever product or service you want to offer.

For example, Adsense, Chitika’s eMiniMalls, WidgetBucks, Azoogle Ads, Intelli Txt, DoubleClick, Tribal Fusion, Adbrite, Clicksor, AdHearUs, Kanoodle, Pheedo, TextAds, Bidvertoser, ValueClick , MSN Adcenter, Yahoo! Publisher Network, BlogAds and Text Link Ads.

RSS Advertising – Many folks swear by this, claiming that it outperforms AdSense.

Sponsors – Imagine writing for a company on a certain product. This is great for awareness and earning money as well. This can happen on a post by post basis or much longer depending on the sponsor.

Affiliate Programs – If you have a specific niche there are great affiliate programs which you should investigate further: Amazon, , Clickbank, and Commission Junction.

Digital Assets – This really is not as hard as it seems. Many, many, many bloggers are drafting ebooks (digital assets) to augment their income. These assets often include courses, tele-seminars, and coaching.  This is a big opportunity if you have traffic as high as 500+ visitors a month.

Blog Network Opportunities – What about joining forces?  Blog networks allow for the opportunity to write with others. It can be difficult to get a good writing opportunity. There are always networks looking for bloggers and they are willing to pay. For those of you who are not as interested in business building while you write this is ideal. Many of the networks are not exclusive, so you if you need to supplement your income by taking on a network that is acceptable.

BBWO (Business Blog Writing Opportunities) – Blogging is so profitable that many companies have blogging staff. However, some companies do not want to take the risk on of an unseasoned blogger. Offline Blog Writing Opportunities – Blogging can take you offline, literally. You may take on additional sources of income writing for papers once they see your readership or style.  Not to mention they opportunity for a published book.

Flipping Blogs – The business communities understands the value of the eyeballs viewing each page of a blog and as such are offering money to take ownership. Enter “blog flipping” – the concept of selling your blog for large sums of money.

1. You should be passionate about a product or service (or at least have a hobby)
2. You should enjoy writing (unless you are going to outsource it)

Typing, online data entry job into Google should pull up some very interesting results. You may even become dizzied by the many offers of individuals willing to give you the keys to the universe for one low price of $99.95.

The revelation you should be having at this point is nothing is as easy at seams. Although I cannot tell you how many people want this to be true. However, with your dedication to making money online it is possible to have additional income, even replacement income using the internet.

Blogging, smartly.

This is the combination of providing interesting material for your readership, but also doing your best to run a profitable online business. Not many of these types of blogs exist, they slant either one-way or the other.

I know several bloggers who simply target the spiders (or search engines) only. In their haste to be picked up by the search engines they forget that top placement on the search engine doesn’t have much meaning unless you bring readers who care about reading your material to the top of the mountain with you…

There are other blogger types who simply write good articles with no online business sense and still end up closing their blog. Missing opportunity, after opportunity…and walk away not understanding why they could not make it when they had so many readers.
